Description

Eyetracking, Inc (ETI), founded by Dr. Sandra Marshall and several colleagues from the Cognitive Ergonomics Research Facility at San Diego State University, emerged from two decades of federally funded research in cognition and assessment. Our revolutionary methods for determining cognitive strategies and cognitive workload based on eye measures were developed and rigorously tested to accommodate the needs of the US Department of Defense. EyeTracking, Inc. was established in February, 1999 to offer the same technology and expertise to the commercial sector.

Initial commercialization efforts focused on internet applications, consumer marketing and software. ETI released a suite of services that introduced scientific objectivity into the highly-subjective world of interface usability and advertisement response studies. ETI’s distinction as a pioneer of commercial eye-tracking services and cutting edge research studies attracted the attention of many of the world’s most respected companies.

In 2002, EyeTracking, Inc. was selected to participate in the Augmented Cognition Program for the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). Since that time, EyeTracking, Inc. has achieved several revolutionary milestones including, real-time estimates of cognitive workload, linking the Index of Cognitive Activity (ICA) to changes in performance, and developing a system that integrates and displays real-time multi-sensor data (i.e. wireless EEG, fNIR and eye-tracking systems) to produce high fidelity estimates of cognitive state change.
