Faroe Islands: all about Faroe Islands. Information about Faroe Islands
Description
The Faroe Islands (Faroese: Føroyar, meaning "Sheep Islands") are a group of islands in the north Atlantic Ocean between Scotland and Iceland. They are an autonomous region of the kingdom of Denmark. Since 1948 they have had self-government in almost all matters except defence and foreign affairs.
You will probably need both T-shirts and raingear, as you are likely to experience the contrasting moods of the Atlantic Ocean, from raging waves to a dead calm. Many activities and excursions depend on the weather so be prepared to change your plans at short notice. Also be prepared for rapid changes in the weather; it may well be sunny on one side of the mountain and raining on the other.
