Forth Estuary Transport Authority - Home
Description
The Scottish Executive used powers contained in the Transport (Scotland) Act 2001 to replace the Forth Road Bridge Joint Board with the Forth Estuary Transport Authority (FETA).
With traffic volumes regularly exceeding 70,000 vehicles per day and long queues now a feature of peak time travel, FETA’s challenge is to reduce congestion on the bridge and encourage greater use of public transport options.
The Forth Estuary Transport Authority Order came into force on 1st April 2002 and the new joint board comprises the constituent local authorities as follows:
