About findaMob.com

FindAMobTommy.jpg
Set up by city banker and entrepreneur Tommy McNally, and recently featured in page 3 of 'the Wharf' (see right), findamob.com [1] has rapidly become one of the fastest growing mobile phone websites in England [2].

Formally known as easymob or EasyMob.co.uk the website was asked to change it’s name as legal representatives from the brand easyGroup, responsible for companies such as easyJet, filed legal objections to the use of the word ‘Easy’ in the company name. The site EasyMob.co.uk changed to findaMob.com in February 2007. The case was settled out of court.

The site has an estimated turnover of 6,000 users a day browsing for the best deals available.

The websites mobile phone database has over 50,000 contract deals that are updated everyday. It allows user to search for a phone or contract based on factors like monthly line rental cost, MP3 functionality, minutes e.t.c.

TV

The website is also due to feature in the summer of 2007 on BBC3 when the follow up show to ‘Spendahoics’ is due to air. The site will feature as 'easymob' as the programme was filmed before easyGroup filed it’s legal objections.

Features of the site

The site became popular due to being one of the only mobile phone website that offer the massively in demand Nintendo Wii FREE with some of it’s contracts when it was sold out and in great demand in the weeks leading to the 2006 christmas. It was also one of the only places the Nintendo Wii was available at the time. The Wii, along with ipod’s, PSP’s, plasma TV’s and many more electrical goods are still available free on certain contracts shown on the site. The site has also secured a contract to offer the highly anticipated Playstation 3 FREE on selected mobile phone contracts [3]. It has also taken off after being one of the first sites to offer the eagerly anticipated Nokia N95 which is the most powerful Nokia to date.

  • This article looks pretty good. I might do a few minor tweaks, but there's certainly a lot of good information here and a lot of potential. I'll put it in the queue to be featured. --TakKendrick 12:34, 28 February 2007 (PST)
