Launched in May 1992, Free Soft S.A. is a young, rapidly expanding company, whose turnover is increasing by over 40% a year. Free Soft initiated Free Sign 1.0 in January 1993 and it enjoyed an immediate success, being one of the first cutting software packages for Macintosh. Attentive to the needs of its customers, Free Soft decided to launch its vectorization software, ArtLine 1.0 in 1994 and it soon became a firm favorite with professionals. During the summer of 1995, Free Soft relocated its premises and began recruiting new staff to bring its team up to strength. ArtLine 2.0 was launched at that time and this new version offered an unrivaled quality of color image vectorization. The summer of 1995 was also a time for forging closer links. CADlink, a leader on the cutting market for PCs with SignLab, signed a contract with Free Soft to distribute Free Sign as SignLab for Macintosh. In January 1997, thanks to its unprecedented track record for Macintosh development activities, Free Soft forged ahead of its rivals to become the sole company offering both printing and cutting facilities on the same machine. This huge leap forwards led to further closer ties with manufacturers such as Roland, Graphtec, CalComp and Mutoh. In early 1998, Free Soft began marketing Free Print, a RIP Postscript incorporating all the functional purposes vital for large-format digital printing professionals. Free Soft managed to expand its market to the United States, the Arab Emirates and Japan during 1998. We now operate on a global scale and this has enabled us to become a world leader in Graphic Arts for Macintosh.
