FOCI's mission is to continue to nurture the friendship between the U.S. and Côte d'Ivoire by funding humanitarian and development projects in Côte d'Ivoire, to educate Americans about Côte d'Ivoire, and to serve as a network for RPCVs from Côte d'Ivoire and Ivorians living in the United States.

FOCI maintains four funds to support development projects in Côte d'Ivoire. The General Fund supports a variety of development projects as approved by board members. The Women in Development (WID) Scholarship Fund helps shape future leaders of Côte d'Ivoire by sponsoring girls who otherwise would be unable to go to secondary school. It pays their school book fees for all five years of their attendance. This program is implemented by Peace Corps Volunteers in Côte d'Ivoire.

Two additional funds honor volunteers who died during their Peace Corps service; the Kevin Leveille Memorial Fund and the Billy DiDiego Memorial Fund provide grants to Peace Corps Volunteers for developments projects undertaken in the spirit of Kevin and Billy.
