Summer High School Community Service Programs for Teens and College Level Teaching Internships
Description
Superior leadership is a critical component in the success of our programs. Therefore, a great deal of time and care goes into assembling the best team of leaders the field offers. In addition to being warm, bright, compassionate, energetic, creative and competent, each leader also has extensive experience working with high school students. Global Routes leaders must be at least 24 years of age, certified in CPR and First Aid, have far-reaching travel experience, and complete Global Routes' intensive training program.
Zach Bayer B.A., Psychology and Criminal Justice, Auburn University; Masters candidate, Clinical Psychology, San Diego State University. Wilderness First Responder. Advanced open water diver. Traveled in Belize, Europe, Vietnam, Africa and the Caribbean. Backpacked through 23 countries over 19 months. Enjoys bicycling, playing ultimate frisbee and going on family vacations.
Jessica Bender B.A., Environmental Studies and Fine Art, University of California, Santa Cruz; M.Ed., University of California, Santa Cruz. Fourth grade teacher, Pajaro Valley Unified School District. Naturalist at Santa Cruz Outdoor Science School. Enjoys travel, scuba diving, cycling, gardening, ceramics, photography, banjos and pirate jokes. Three seasons with Global Routes.
