History
GloDerWorks was founded by its two principles, Gloria Hansen of Hightstown, New Jersey and Derry Thompson of Bewdley, Worcs. UK. After working together on an ad hoc basis on numerous projects, they recognized that the sum of their skills exceeded that of their parts and so formalized the relationship.
The Principals
Gloria Hansen is an avid Macintosh user, long-time active member in the National Association of Photoshop Professionals, and an award-winning quilt artist whose work appeared in various books, magazines, and on television. She studied graphic arts, photography, and creative writing, has a degree in applied sciences, and has been involved with computers since the late 1980s. She worked as a paralegal and manager for a Mac–based law firm for more than a decade, maintaining the computers and providing software training. During that period, she began writing about the Internet, published her first site in the late 1990s, and changed her career. She went on to author or co-author 14 books on Internet topics and quilting/computer design, lecture on Internet and computer design topics, and she earned certifications in Web design and production. Although her primary focus is on designing websites based on client need, Gloria continues blending her love of quiltmaking with digital art and exhibits throughout the US and abroad. She is also a freelance columnist for three fiber-related publications.
