- Good Beginnings - Maui County strives to enhance the lives of young children, birth to age 8, by providing early care and education resources, training, leadership and coordination. Good Beginnings - Maui is guided by the Maui County Good Beginnings Community Council and the early childhood plan they developed for Maui County . The 16-member Council is comprised of public and private partners, including representatives from the Department of Human Services, Department of Health, Department of Education, Maui Community College , PATCH, Maui Family Support Services, MEO Head Start, county government, philanthropy and other members of the community.
