Description
Practice Philosophy
Dr. Conger keeps the needs of the patient foremost in his mind as he evaluates and prescribes treatment. He makes a particular point to take the time to explain the nature of eye disease to his patients and the available treatment regimes. Dr. Conger takes an aggressive approach to treatment of glaucoma. "Often I see patients several times within the first few months after they have been diagnosed with glaucoma to make sure their treatment regimen is adequate to control the disease," explains Dr. Conger.
On the other hand, Dr. Conger takes a conservative approach to surgery on the eye. Cataract surgery is usually an elective procedure designed to restore vision. He notes, "Many patients ask me when should their cataracts come out and seem somewhat surprised when I tell them the final decision rests with them. I can make predictions and recommendations, but it is up to the patient to decide when they are ready for cataract surgery, not the doctor."
