Hall Eastwell botanically inspired giftware and collectibles
Description
Since the dawn of modern civilization, mankind has marveled at and appreciated the natural beauty of the remarkable flora found on this Earth. For centuries, flowers, plants and herbs have been used as symbols; Many references to flowers can be found in Greek mythology and ancient Egypt. During the 17th century in Europe, an actual “floral” language was born. Our passion for the plant world continues to grow today as prestigious botanical libraries thrive in major metropolitan areas throughout the world.
At Hall Eastwell, we celebrate this passion. All of our product designs are the result of carefully researched historical floral and herbal illustrations and designs found in manuscripts that date as far back as the 14th century. All the products that we produce are intended to be a collector’s piece and possess three distinguishing marks: the Hall Eastwell stamp, the mark of our manufacturing location and that of the artist responsible for the final product design.
Many of our designs are reproductions based on illustrations published in historical manuscripts including the complete 1633 Edition of Gerard’s Herbal as revised and enlarged by Thomas Johnson. It is considered by many to be the definitive reference on English herbals.
