Our Mission Statement
The Haliburton Highlands Writers' and Editors' Network (HHWEN) is an umbrella organization dedicated to encouraging and promoting the art and skill of writing, fostering literacy, and providing moral support to writers and editors through education and networking, both independently and in cooperation with existing organizations.
The Umbrella Organization
hosts a bi-monthly breakfast meeting to which a variety of speakers are invited. At these meetings, guest speakers address such things as their backgrounds and lives as writers, references to their works, the business of writing, motivational influences and self publishing
The Writers' Circles
Writers bring their work to circles and read aloud to their peers. Advice is offered with substantive and linear editing. All types of work are read as currently the circles are composed of writers of all genres.
