Description
Our company was founded in 1907 when Frank Piper opened a farriers business in Camberwell Green, South London. Piper and Sons kept London on the move and supplied with milk by making the shoes on the horses that pulled London Transport’s and United Dairies' then horse-drawn buses and milk carts.
By 1920, when many of the horses on London’s streets had given way to horsepower, the company had evolved into a light engineering business manufacturing components and finished products for a whole host of locally based customers.
The Hi-Lo brand was launched in 1960 when the company started importing an early pallet racking system from Canada. In 1962 we set up a factory on our existing site in Woolwich and began manufacturing our own adjustable pallet racking system, quickly establishing a world-wide reputation for product quality and technical excellence which remains with us to this day.
