Hurst is an independently owned non-fiction publisher, specialising in books on global affairs, founded by the late Christopher Hurst (1929-2007) in 1969. Michael Dwyer (michael@hurstpub.co.uk) joined the company in 1986 and took it over following Christopher's death in April 2007. We publish between twenty-five and forty books a year, co-publishing them simultaneously in North America with university presses and trade publishers.
