ImageVenue.com debuted on 08-11-2004. With dedicated multiple server networks powered by Linux and no registration requirements, image hosting has never been so easier. But one needs to pay for accessing additional features. You don’t to sign up for a free account on this site to upload or share images. That is a great relief from filling all those unnecessary forms giving your personal information and freedom from spam mails. But this means you have access to limited features and restrictions like image formats JPEG and JPG are the only allowed image formats. Maximum file size that can be uploaded is 3 MB.

Features and Content

On the home page, one can find the file selection field and browse button using which 5 images can be uploaded at a time. Recently, one click image upload tool has been added which enables more number of files that can be uploaded with just one click. URLs that are provided on the next page can be used for hot linking thumbnails by users on their personal websites, message boards, auction sites such as eBay and also blogs. No provision for deletion of files exists; one has to wait for nearly a year to get them off the servers.

Free users cannot directly link large images. To avail this feature and many others one must sign up for the premium account. Image Venue claims that they give the largest discounts compared on image hosting compared to other image hosting websites. Along with hot linking large images, account owners are provided with up to 3000 MB of space on their Canada based Pentium 4 Linux server, up to 100 GB of bandwidth transfer per month, backup space, ability to host one’s own webpage or websites. The premium account holders also have access features like online CPanel (premium panel for web hosting industry), zip files uploading ability, full ftp access, network monitoring round the clock, and 99.9% uptime guarantee. Premium members also get hot linking protection and security against exchange of adult content. After uploading the image, users can choose whether they want the image hot linked directly or through a thumbnail. But there is a catch here; there are two types of premium accounts - Premium Lazy Poster account costing $1.66 per month with 30 MB of bandwidth transfer and 1000 MB of disk space and Premium Busy Poster account costing $ 4.75 per month with 100 GB of bandwidth transfer and 3000 MB of disk space.
