All Plastic’s roots go back to 1946, when Wm. C. Rieger Sr. (whom still works to this day as their “In house” engineer & technical consultant) entered into business in the Agricultural Machinery Manufacturing & Services Industry primarily as a Welding & Machine Shop, in the Village of Rockyford, Alberta. He began teaching his son Michael to weld when he was only 7 years of age, welding professionally at the age of 12.

Michael became immersed in 3 basic trades: Welding, Machining & Mechanics. While in the course of completing his apprenticeships, the philosophy with him and his peers in the Service dept. became the humorous line, “We can fix anything, & the impossible takes only 20 minutes longer”. While working with the oddest of materials: White metal, Aluminum, Cast Iron, Lead, Brass, Gold, etc. What’s important to note, is the attitude that developed in the minds of the team. The nature of the industry, combined with the fact that this was a somewhat isolated community dictated the terms of that philosophy: Which was often the case in an “emergency” situation, replacement parts weren't always readily available and some creative thinking & engineering came in to play.

At that time, the use of plastic was extremely limited, found mostly in Cosmetic/Non-essential applications with the exception of Nylon which was becoming popular in the manufacture of automotive timing gears.
