Every month, when I send in my student loan payments to Northwestern University, using my tears to seal the envelope, I think money. well. spent. Many people ask me why I started this blog (although even more people ask me when I’ll end this blog). Is it for the money? The fame? Basically, I was looking to be ‘Governing’ Magazine’s cover girl.
T.J. Shroat is the real, non-pseudonymous, name of Timothy Jordan Allen Shroat. Shroat, a native of Louisville, KY attended the same high school as Hunter S. Thompson, and wished that fact, somehow, had a more significant impact on his life. T.J. graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a B.S. in Pre-medicine, deciding not to actually go to medical school. Shroat also earned an MBA from the University of Texas, and has no current plans to use that degree either. Originally moving to Austin to attend graduate school, he has never left due to a heartfelt love of breakfast tacos. He hopes that the mores of society will eventually change and allow him to marry one. He neither follows, nor is particularly interested in, Texas politics.
Brett Stroud (”JCBT”) was born in Devine, Texas and realized at an early age that his destiny lay elsewhere. He attended the University of Texas and is pretty sure he has a history degree. The only thing Brett knows about Texas politics is what he reads in the papers so he enjoys making up quotes and getting threatened with lawsuits. In his spare time he contemplates marriage proposals from both his fans.
