Title

FukuokaLive.com [FUN, FREE, English chat and exchange - 24 hours a day!]

Description

FukuokaLive.com was created by british students studying Japanese at University in Fukuoka. It is based on the huge success of similar websites at Oxford and Cambridge Universities in the United Kingdom.

A similar website was originally conceived by Richard Neill and realised by John Surcombe from Cambridge University to provide a service for Cambridge students.

Andy Hine and Dave Agrawal brought the service to Oxford University in 2002. An Oxford Society was created along with the website which secured sponsorship from companies such as Vodafone to help pay for marketing as well as site costs. The service became one of Oxford's biggest societies, with over 4,000 members, and 150,000 hits a day.
