Photographing People and the things they do, Jay was an award-winning newspaper photojournalist for more than six years before leaving to pursue freelance work in editorial and commercial assignment photography.
Earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism from California's San Jose State University and freelancing in the Bay Area for two years, Jay came to the east coast for a staff photographer position at The Hartford Courant in Connecticut. After four years in Hartford, Jay has moved to New York City to continue creating pictures of people and their pursuits in life and love.
Jay has earned numerous awards through the Bay Area and California Press Photographer's Associations,the National Press Photographer's Association, the Associated Press and the Society of Newspaper Design.
