- San Diego Junior Theatre operates as an independent, nonprofit organization for the benefit of San Diego's children, and is the oldest continuing childrens' theatre program in the country. In the past 53 years, San Diego Junior Theatre has produced over 320 productions, and entertained more than one million audience members! While our alumni include celebrities such as Brian Stokes Mitchell, Victor Buono, Dennis Hopper and Raquel Welch, the program's dedication to providing quality education and building self-esteem helps all children develop the life skills that theatre can teach. That's why our education and community outreach programs are so important. As one of the nation's most comprehensive theatre education programs for children, San Diego Junior Theatre offers more than 200 classes per year. With the help of our growing corporate sponsorship program, education and entertainment services are offered to school and community groups throughout San Diego.
