History of KPForum

kingpin life of crime.jpg

In 1999, PC Gamer released a demo CD with their magazine, as usual. This demo had a game called "Kingpin: Life of Crime". Eventually, a group of friends realized the power of the internet, and created a website called Kingpin: News and Rumors. This aggravated and caught many Kingpin Clans by surprise. This new web site was filled with humor, no forums, and wasn't associated with any clans. Various features popped up (Separated@Birth, Kingpin Awards 2003, Kingpin Yearbook) and the website took off.

We added a forum in 2003, and all of the core members pooled together to raise money for a domain, known as KPForum.net and were ready to go on December 20, 2004.

At the beginning of 2006, we had focused away from the ever-diminishing Kingpin community and tried to expand over everything that we were interested in. 1980's era entertainment, music, movie clips, classic console gaming, and humor. A handful of the core members still play Kingpin, because if you ask, nothing will ever be the same as Kingpin.

2008 brought about the end of KPForum. The forums were deleted, and the old pages were gone. At this point, KPForum was just a pivot point in pirating music and software, since 99% of the visitors at the time were streaming music or downloading games without even visiting.

January 2009 ended up being a new beginning for KPForum with the rebuilding of the site, forums, and a new hosting company. This time, focusing on Left 4 Dead, Call of Duty, 4, then 5, and any other games that the core members play, including Kingpin.

That's the story of KPForum.net. Just a group of buddies who have a similar sense of humor.

Long story short, KPForum was born to make fun of a gaming clan. It grew, and now we welcome new members from all walks of life and corners of the internet world.
