When I started Kalilily Time in November of 2001, I already had retired from a well-paying job I liked and had taken on the responsibility of helping out my then 86 year old mother. I had moved into an apartment across the hall from her and was struggling to adjust to the fact that her increasing dementia meant that my ability to have a social life was rapidly decreasing.
