- The "I Can Do It!" reward chart was developed by a psychiatric nurse with years of experience in child and adolescents. As a nurse, she created hundreds of behavior charts using behavior modification techniques utilized by hospitals nationally. As a mother, with three young children she searched for something to use with her own children that would incorporate problem behaviors as well as chores that her children would understand. Oddly enough, she found very little out on the market despite the fact that so many of the parenting books recommend using reward systems in your home to encourage positive behaviors as well as decreasing negative ones.
