KRFE AM 580 Radio was a vision of the late Big Ed Wilkes long before he put the station on the air in 1994. Big Ed believed in Lubbock and it's people. His dream was to give the people a voice. Thus, KRFE AM 580 was born and built on a strong foundation. Ed was king of the morning radio on the South Plains along with Co-hosts Bud Andrews and Wade Wilkes. Ed passed away Dec. 21, 1998.
You can not find another radio station in West Texas that has a staff with the skill, knowledge and notoriety that these people have. KRFE will reach into New Mexico, nearly to Amarillo and past Snyder. KRFE AM 580 will deliver a broad base of listeners for your message. AM 580's team of broadcasters would like to work for you.
