Kris has been a loyal servant to his hometown club Wigan for over 11 years since signing as a seventeen year old in 1993 and Wigan Rugby League Club has been his only professional club, winning with them numerous trophies including the Challenge Cup, the League Title, the Regal Trophy, the Inaugural Super League Grand Final, and the Premiership. Kris was also a member of the first Rugby League team to win the Middlesex Sevens Rugby Union event.
In 2001 Kris turned down a tremendous offer from England Rugby Union to be part of the preparations for the 2003 World Cup. Kris chose to stay loyal to Wigan Rugby Club and rugby league in general at a time when rugby league was at a crossroads. His defection may have paved the way for other high profile players to leave, however Kris has no regrets not being involved in the England Rugby Union squad that won the World Cup, particularly when he was involved in the 2002 Challenge Cup.
