Our History

Matthew Brown got his first Apple II computer at the age of 12 and has been hooked ever since. In 1995, after attending college in San Francisco, Matt landed his first coding job and has never looked back. With the advent of the open source revolution, Matt became a true believer in the philosophy and flexibility of the open source community and quickly became a contributor to the vast world of open source projects. After the sale of his successful Linux based web design business in 2000, Matt migrated from foggy San Francisco to sunny San Diego and co-founded LAMP Host with his wife Margot. With a background in application engineering and system administration Matt was well aware that a hole existed in the web hosting world that needed to be filled. After putting together an eclectic team of Linux gurus, Matt and his crew set out to build a better hosting company based on the best of secure open source technologies and founded on the belief that the customer is the number one priority.
