Lewes is served by a number of railway lines. From London Victoria (direct) or London Bridge or Waterloo (one change necessary), trains run twice an hour in peak time and the journey takes slightly over an hour. From Gatwick the journey is half an hour. From Newhaven Harbour there are two trains an hour and the journey takes only ten minutes. From Brighton there are four trains an hour, the journey taking fifteen minutes, and from Eastbourne there are also four trains an hour, the journey taking twenty minutes. Lewes is also connected - via Eastbourne, Rye and Hastings - to the EuroStar service at Ashford, and there are direct services from Portsmouth via Chichester and Worthing. For information on all train times you can call National Rail Enquiries on 08457 484950.
