Lou Fegers began his racing career in 1948. His nickname, “Lightin’ Lou,” was given to him because of his ability to run at the front of the pack. With his racing background, it was inevitable that he begin his own race parts business. In 1965, he began Lou Fegers Racing Equipment (LFRE) Inc. It has since grown into a successful business and one of the leading suppliers of speed and safety equipment in the country.
