The Luke Society is an interdenominational organization of Christian health and business professionals dedicated to medical missions. We support indigenous Christian health professionals who have a vision to reach their own people. Our focus is on community health--teaching people how to prevent disease and equipping people to care for themselves, their families and their communities. Besides teaching prevention, we also provide medical care for the sick and comfort for the dying. When appropriate, we help initiate economic development projects to assist people in providing for their families. Most important, ours is a Christ-centered ministry of evangelism and discipleship, reconciling man to God, and man to man through the truth of the gospel.
The Luke Society chooses to support indigenous Christian health professionals. They know the language and culture of their people and have ideas for solving their own problems. The Luke Society helps provide the resources to bring their God-given visions to fruition. We have more than 20 ministries on five continents and are adding new ones as the Lord leads. Our domestic ministry focuses on advancing God's Kingdom through a lay health movement that promotes health, reconciliation, and the gospel of Jesus Christ in poor and underserved communities. We identify and form partnerships with leaders called of God to serve the health needs of the poor in their communities. We assist those leaders in implementing Christian lay health programs that promote both physical and spiritual well-being.
The world and everything in it belongs to God. He made our world perfect, but sin entered with its consequences of suffering and disease.
