Oops, sorry, that was actually Jake Peavy, who did his best Seaver impersonation, and except for one bad pitch, which Ryan Langerhans blasted for a 2 run homer, Peavy might have pitched a complete game, and challenged 20 strike outs. His stuff was that great, I couldn’t believe he blew the game, just like Seaver used to do in the ’70’s, almost all the time. I can’t imagine how many games Tom Terrific would have won if he had any run support at all on many nights. For those of you who claim KKKKKlemens is better, I disagree, although the numbers are relatively close. I still shudder at the memory of former Met GM M. Donald Grant having the AUDACITY to trade The Franchise to the Cincinnati Reds, for a whole bunch of nobodies. That was surely a night for Met fans to forget, because in the same evening they sent Dave Kingman to the San Diego Padres for a washed up utility infielder, a slightly injured guy by the name of Bobby Valentine. Whatever happened to him anyway? Guess he really must be enjoying himself in the Land of the Rising Sun, sucking down sushi 7 days a week!!!!
