- Dale and Margaret (Mugs) Manry have been together since meeting at the US Military Academy Prep School in the fall of 1985. They dated throughout their 4 years at the United States Military Academy, West Point. Upon graduation and commissioning as 2nd Lieutenants in the Corps of Engineers, Dale and Mugs were married in June 1990. After Engineer Officer Basic Course at Fort Leonardwood, Missouri, they went to Germany for 3 years. Mugs was in the 79th Combat Heavy Engineer Battalion, and Dale was in the 649th Topographic Engineer Battalion. Mugs left the Regular Army after their assignment to Germany. Other places they’ve been assigned are: Fort Carson, Colorado; Madison, Wisconsin (grad school); West Point, NY (teaching GIS); Seoul, Korea (Mugs and kids lived in Zimmerman, Minnesota while Dale was in Korea); Fort Shafter, Hawaii (life’s a beach); and Canberra, Australia (another tough duty assignment).
