Description
Matrix Games & Diversions is the sole dream of proprietor Jack Palur. Palur started gaming back in 1978. He learned that this hobby had very few shops and even less organization, so he helped with the founding of the North Coast Gamer's Guild in 1985. This club met in many locations across Northern Ohio and had over 150 members through the years. It was during the time the club met in Palur's home when Jack opened a small mail-order hobby shop in his basement.
In 1992, Jack, and his wife Joyce, opened a retail location in a small building in Sheffield Lake. They sold games, housed clubs, and had a great time in those 800 square feet. When a larger location became available, (2000 square feet), in 1993, the Palurs moved Matrix into it, expanding their selection to include collectable cards and comic books. Matrix was "Chapter Approved" by Games Workshop almost immediately, a title which they held for eight years.
Matrix hosted many interesting events between 1993 and the present. Examples include: the ever famous quarterly monthly auctions, mini-conventions, demonstrations, celebrities, (including Cleveland Browns Football Players, Magic: The Gathering Artists, Game Designers for many different manufacturers, GW Outriders, Comic Book Artists and more), and tons of sponsored game events, movie nights, tournaments, and other fun stuff!
