Two of Midwest Weightlifting athletes competed at the 2006 National Championships in Shreveport, LA - August 10-12. Jake Johnson placed 3rd overall in the 69 kg category in his first national meet as a 69 kg. He made a 3 for 3 performance in the snatch finishing with 117kg. He made 140 in the C&J for a 257kg total. He is just coming off his performance in May where he lifted in the 2006 World Junior Championships in Hangzhou, China.
