The founder of Miningworks, David Miller, gained tremendous experience with the inner workings of the DNS system during his tenure as Chief Technology Officer at a company that had to grapple with this problem continuously. Successfully resolving their large web logs was of critical importance to the company's analytics processing. As anyone dealing with this problem will attest to, the delay introduced by DNS lookups is often the weakest link in the Analytics processing chain.
