Description
The Minnesota Society for Interest in Science Fiction and Fantasy (MISFITS) is a non-profit organization with a mission of increasing literacy, community service, and community building. MISFITS also serves as a forum and foundation for celebrating diversity and works to promote the appreciation of, and interest in, Science Fiction and Fantasy.
MISFITS works with people of all ages, ethnic identities, and socio-economic backgrounds to enhance literacy; reaching out to youth and adults in need of reading, writing and computing skills. The ability to express one's thoughts and feelings in different mediums is a skill that should be nurtured and practiced, no matter what the age. MISFITS realizes that for our children, literacy is the key to a happy, successful future.
Must attend at LEAST 2 membership meetings, 1 of which MUST be the voting meeting. A membership meeting would be A MISFITS staff meeting, a MISFITS Open Meeting, or a CONvergence Con-Com meeting. MISFITS or CONvergence Divisional, Departmental, or sub-committee meeting do not count for that total.
