- I have been making jewelry for over 30 years. I first learned the basics of fabrication and lost wax casting in high school craft classes, but my love of crafts started much earlier. My grandmother was a weaver and furniture maker and often had craft projects in her home to participate in. I spent many hours reading the magazine “Craft Horizons” in her home. She was a great influence on me inspiring me to use my creative talents. I attended Texas State Technical Institute and studied commercial art and advertising (1974-1975). A large portion of my adult life has been spent reading, studying and experimenting in the metal arts. While I do not have any academic training in jewelry metal arts I have attended many workshops and seminars that have focused on the technical aspects of jewelry making and metal arts.
