Title

Mountain Vineyard Christian Fellowship

Description

In June of 1985, a small group of 25 people met at the First Presbyterian Church in Kent on Sunday evenings. Roy and Gail Conwell were asked to come back from their ministry in Alaska to pastor the new church. While a decision was being made as to denominational affiliation, Roy attended a seminar put on by the Kirkland Vineyard in Montesano, Washington. There he met Lee Bennett, who was pastoring at the Kirkland Vineyard, and he also experienced the power of worship and the presence of the Holy Spirit and abundance. That seminar marked the beginning of Roy and Lee's relationship. A year later, they joined the Vineyard.

In late 1985, the church began meeting at Mattson Junior High until May 1993, when it moved into Kent Hill Plaza Shopping Center. In September 1996, our lease expired and we had the opportunity to purchase a 3000 square foot house and adjoins our property (11 acres) in Covington for our church Office and Training Center (OTC). The OTC is located approximately one mile past the Highway 18/Kent-Kangley Road Junction and its where we hope to build a permanent facility in the next 1-3 years. In the interim, we are meeting at Cedar Heights Junior High, conveniently placed within viewing distance of the OTC.

Building Project - Focal Point Earl Floyd (e-mail)

We are in the process of preparing to build a church on the 11+ acres of property where the Office & Training Center sits. The church property is 4 blocks west of Cedar Heights Junior High School. The new facility will be approximately 45,000 square feet in size as depicted to the right. The new facility will include a 450 seat sanctuary (expandable to 900), classrooms, offices, an atrium with coffee area, and a gymnasium.
