- A Gwinnett County, Georgia, mother is seeking to have the Harry Potter books banned from the local school media center. Her argument, of course, is that the books encourage witchcraft, and she just won't let her babies be exposed to such an evil religion. This is so ridiculous that I've been unable to come up with something appropriately witty with which to mock her. Seriously, has she ever even read the books? I just can't even imagine how anyone could come up with the idea that Harry Potter is a devil-worshiper who wants to lure children into his wicked cabal of Satanic ritual. And if she doesn't like it, why doesn't she just forbid her children to read the books? Why does she think she has to ruin it for everyone else's kids?
