- Paula Modugno Okin is an ASHA certified and New York State licensed Speech-Language Pathologist and a certified Teacher of the Speech And Hearing Handicapped. Ms. Okin has over 16 years experience working with infants, children and adults with varying degrees of communication impairments. Ms. Okin is the former assistant director of the Hy Weinberg Center for Communication Disorders at Adelphi University and has worked in school settings, universities and in developmental centers. Ms. Okin has presented research papers on autism and the communication disorders of the severely handicapped, as well as on stuttering disorders at local, regional and national conventions. Ms. Okin has published in the areas of administration and the computerization of a speech and hearing program. More recently, Ms. Okin has focused her interests on professional issues, managed care, and other matters pertinent to the practicing of the profession.
