Title

Welcome to OMGA, Inc.

Description

OMGA was established in 1960 as a sole proprietorship by Arrigo Ghizzoni to produce small woodworking machines which consisted of bench miter chop saws. OMGA had had ten employees when Arrigo's brothers, Alberto and Gianni joined the company in 1964 and transformed it in a General Partnership ('S.n.c.'). In 1968 with 56 employees and a turnover of ITL 3 billion, the greatest share of which coming from export OMGA was bound for a successful future. In the course of the following years its turnover and workforce grew as it

expanded its product range. In 1980, OMGA S.n.c. became OMGA S.p.A. (C-Corporation) and continued to expand its product lines and engage in increasingly advanced projects. The cyclical up and down turns of the worldwide markets made it necessary for OMGA to specialize in particular market segments and devote greater resources to R&D for very fast, flexible and more precise systems. These systems were made possible by advanced technology and electronics that enabled it to supply the products that the market needed, both in terms of quantity and quality. In the last decade of the old millennium OMGA consolidated its identity and gained a worldwide reputation through its solid successes and increasing penetration of the global market with what was fast becoming its core product, Optimizing Cut-Off Saws and Finger Joint.

This forty-year old policy of setting aside funds for judicious investment has been shown to be the correct path that must be followed. The dynamism and enthusiasm of the company allowd it, in January 2000, to aquire 100% of MAGH S.p.A., of Grigno di Valsugana in the province of Trento, Italy. MAGH, which also manufactures woodworking machines, had an annual turnover of about ITL 13 billion; the merged companies turned into a group with annual revenue of ITL 40 billion by the end of 2001. The company today sells its products in over 60 countries all over the world through a consolidated network of dealers and agents. It counts on 350,000 square feet of manufacturing facilities split in three plants respectively located in Grigno Valsugana (Northern Italy), Limidi di Soliera (Central Italy, Headquarters) and Zalau (Northern Romania).
