The Ontario Homeopathic Association (OHA) was founded in 1992 to re-establish Homeopathy as a recognized health care system in Ontario, and to form a united and regulated body of qualified practitioners who provide safe, effective and professional homeopathic health care to the public.
The OHA provides referrals to Homeopathic Doctors and Homeopathic Practitioners in Ontario, and is dedicated to providing to the general public and other health care practitioners, current and relevant information and discussions regarding the benefits of homeopathic medicine.
There has been much confusion as to which level of government is responsible for professional regulation; it is a matter of provincial jurisdiction, not federal. The OHA has applied for regulatory licensing to the Ontario Ministry of Health, emphasizing high standards of practice and education by which its members will be governed. These standards will help to ensure that the public of Ontario receives the highest level of homeopathic care available.
