OrangeForce One

Description

When Mile High was replaced with the updated version in 2001, fan groups were divided throughout the stadium, the South Stands no longer put up a big fight, and tailgating was at an absolute low. It seemed that everything was turning away from the use of the color orange; once a symbol of the Broncos, now it seems merely an afterthought. Many fans said they wanted things to go back to the way they were, but nobody would step up to do something about the problem.

Finally, there was a small stirring…The website, OrangeMane.com was bringing fans together, giving out of town and misplaced fans a place to keep up with Broncos news, plan trips to Denver, get connections for tickets and bringing the orange back. “Meck77” invited the site’s owner, “TacoJohn” to join him for the Kansas City game in December of 2003, where the original idea was born. TJ & Meck were talking about chartering a bus from Denver to Canton for John Elway’s enshrinement to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. That’s when it hit them to remodel an old bus into a Broncos tailgating vehicle and shrine on wheels. This would allow them to spread the orange, keep all the tailgating stuff together, and provide them with transportation to home and away games.

In July of 2004, the perfect bus was waiting for a new owner after years of service in the NJ transit system. Meck & the DiscoMan drove the bus down to Tucson, Arizona where she could be converted by the guys at Westwerkes so that she would be ready to debut for the season opener against the KC Chiefs.
