- The Page Education Foundation was created in 1988 with a simple but innovative idea—entice young people of color to positively influence younger children by offering mentoring and financial assistance for college in exchange for their volunteer service. That year, Page Grants were awarded to ten students who mentored about 100 school-age children. Since then, grants have been awarded to 2,667 students who have given more than 175,000 hours of their time to younger children.
