- Patron Statistics was first created in 2002 as a desktop version for a bar owner in Scottsdale, Arizona. As the story goes, the bar had three sets of data from three different hardware manufactures of ID scanners. In addition, the data also came from three different establishments. The owner wanted patrons to receive a ten dollar coupon on their birthday to spend at any of the locations. That naturally progressed to demographical reports, tracking and marketing trends, and automatic generation of a birthday mailing list each month.
