Because there weren’t any other websites that only review and photograph food and drink in Cambodia. Playboy at Khmer440 does an excellent job of writing acerbic restaurant reviews but the site and its forums are more focused on general expat life, discussing the intricacies of scoring Khmer good girls, and having ad hominem arguments about NGOs. Nobody was covering the street food here, which is almost completely distinct from neighbouring Vietnam, Thailand and Laos. In this respect, I was heavily inspired by Saigon foodblog, Noodlepie.
