Well first, phidelity is a marriage of the words phi and fidelity, phi being the number behind the golden mean, golden spiral, golden rectangle the fibonacci sequence. Fidelity is a notion that its most abstract level implies a truthful connection to the source. My primary interests revolve around the concepts of infinity, chaos theory, self-similarity, feedback loops and of course the golden ratio. Rather than just illustrate these concepts I wish to illustrate their connection to reality around us from nature, to society, to the progress of human spiritual evolution.
The methods and processes I use as an artist are constantly evolving and this website is a reflection of them. My overall goal is to create a body of work that is self-referential to a very high degree by sampling pieces in all levels of completion (finigans wake anyone?). Some pieces are simply textures, others are refined to a higher level. By this continual refinement the entire body of work evolves. The website is essentially my toolbox rather than a gallery of completed pieces.
