Placencia, Belize - A Picture Tour

Description

Placencia is a small village situated at the tip of the Penisula in the Stann Creek Region of Belize. Way back when, the village built a sidewalk through the town from the fishing docks. The village centers around this 3 mile sidewalk. I've heard it used to be the narrowest street in Guiness Book of World Records, but have not yet verified it.

Either way, most of the town activities center around the sidewalk. A dirt road also runs parallel to the sidewalk and ends up on the other end of the boat docks by the gas station. The grocery stores are all along this road as well as BJ's diner and taxi service.

Several other restaurants are located along the road as well. (Somehow, I just never seem to make it past BJ's cooking but I'll have to try the others out one day.)
