About
pootato.org is a tutorials site. It is a personal project, I like spending my time working on it. The purpose of this site is to help beginners, but I also use it as a training ground. I test new coding technics and I love validating my codes; I want them tidy. I design with web standards and I have to learn how to make my site more accessible. It was already important to me before, but it became even more important when I saw my grandfather using the Internet. Indeed, since he's pretty old now, he can't see very well anymore. He was annoyed always having to press Ctrl++. To make it short, I hope I will contaminate the visitors and motivate them to use valid coding.
I am sorry for putting Google Ads at the top of each page but since I don't have a job and don't earn my own money yet, I really appreciate it if you can help. I am really glad being hosted at SurpassHosting, for a pennyless girl like me, it is a great deal. Their plans are really affordable, lot of space and bandwidth, it fits exactly what this site needs. Support is great, I haven't noticed a lot of downtimes. I recommend them.
the name
Oh, yes, you might wonder about the name. It is totally meaningless. The previous name was "Waatta". Meaningless too. Anyway, it's a mix between poop and potato. Not very elegant, I know. Don't pay too much attention to this... There are times I consider changing the name once again but I just think about how hard it is to find a name for a website and I give up. I'll stick with pootato.org for the time being.
