Quezon Institute, one of the main divisions of Philippine Tuberculosis Society, Inc. and established in 1938, is now a 200 bed Tertiary Pulmonary Training Hospital. Its mission is to establish itself as a premier pulmonary hospital and become the center of excellence through a comprehensive and innovative approach in the management of pulmonary ailments particularly Tuberculosis. To enhance among the staff a feeling of identification and belonging by promoting professionalism, integrity, mutual respect, consultation, and unity of purpose.

In 1999, through a PCSO grant, QI was able to rehabilitate and renovate its facilities and acquired the necessary state of the art equipment. The hospital operates a department of Pulmonary Medicine and Thoracic Surgery, which boast of 2 new operating rooms, video assisted Thoracoscope system (VATS) and Rigid Bronchoscope. The subspecialty sections of Bronchoscopy and Pulmonary Laboratory, which is equipped with an ABG Analyzer and a V-Max22 unit capable of doing a complete Pulmonary Function Test. The Radiology Section is out-fitted with a new 800 MA Radiography-Flouoroscopy machine. QI provides a 6-bed Medical and Surgical Intensive Care Units with the latest models of ventilators and other equipment. A fully automated General Laboratory, that serves the needs of the hospital particularly in bacteriology and histopathology. The TB Lab. Section users the MB BAC-T machine for AFB culture (caloremetric method).

The hospital has established Specialty Clinics on MDR-TB, Diabetes, Asthma, COPD, Smoking Cessation and Oncology. It has now separate infectious wards and non-infectious wards.
