Description
The Department was created on 1 April 2004, after the merger of the Department of Primary Health Care and General Practice and the Department of Social Science and Medicine. The aim of the Department is to promote interdisciplinary research into the primary care public health and social aspects of health and health interventions in human populations, as well as to provide a substantial training and teaching programme. The Department has a wide-ranging programme of work with strong collaborative links with other departments in Imperial College, elsewhere in the UK and overseas.
